EMAUA aims to produce 25,000 trees in 2018, as it successfully produced 15,000 in 2017. Trees can be used for medicine, agroforestry, food, construction, fuel etc. They capture CO2 in the atmosphere whereby mitigating climate change but at the local level they act as global air conditioner as they protect the soil and the air from warming up, whereby preventing excessive water evaporation from the soil.
By shedding their leaves, they substantially improve soil fertility by increasing soil's organic matter content. Leguminous trees also provide nitrogen to the soil and other species are rich in phosphorous, potassium, magnesium ,etc. Planting trees is considered to be one of the few solutions we have to improve the health of our planet.
